ずいぶん以前のことになるが、モンマルトルの丘の上で、偶然「ハレルヤ（Hallelujah）」という曲を聴いた。路上パフォーマンスなのだが、ずっと心の中に残る演奏だった。

その後、テレビの番組で、カウンター・テナーの歌声が素晴らしいフィリップ・ジャルスキーが歌うのを耳にし、再び心を打たれた。

ジャフ・ベックのヴァージョンはよく知られている。
